Bellingham United FC and Seattle Stars stand at a stalemate. Final score 1-1 (T).
The first goal came in the 16th minute from a ball palyed over the top from Kurtis Pederson to find Nick Cashmere pacing past the defenisve line. Nick settled the ball onto his preffered right foot and burried it into the far corner to beat the keeper. The Seattle Stars quickly answered with a goal of their own to tie the game.
In the second half there were many chances and build-ups for United to take the lead however they came up short and did not find the net again. Niether team were able to score after the first outburst of goals.
“Anytime you pick up a point on the road its a good thing and against Seattle Stars we can be pleased. Unfortunately for both squads the small field resulted in both squads playing very direct and not an attractive style of soccer today.” commented Head Coach Lance Calloway. “I was overall pleased with the chances we created particularly in the second half. Nick Cashmere was creating alot of problems for the Stars backline and he had several good opportunities on goal. Defensively I felt we were pretty solid all around and Bryce Logan commanded the backline very well.”
Bellingham United have played a league high of five games! They will be having their first bye this upcoming Memorial day weekend and return to Bellingham on June 4th to host the Spokane Shadow.
