Bellingham United traveled to the Kitsap Peninsula to play Olympic Force Saturday afternoon. On a hot afternoon United earned a 4-0 shutout.
Bellingham United got their first goal in 7th minute as Christian Thode pounded home a volley of a Luke Olney assist. In the 45th minute Zach Wanne ripped a shot from well outside the right sid of the penalty area hitting the left side netting to give United a 2-0 lead at half time.
Wanne then drew a penalty in the 51st minute which was calmly converted to put United up 3-0. In the 78th minute Cristian Garcia received a flick on from Uriel Herrera then beat an on rushing defender to slot it past the Force keeper in the left side net.
United keeper Bryce Logan earned the shutout for the Hammers. Logan had to come up with 3 great saves in the first half for the clean sheet.
Bellingham is now 5-2-1 on the season with 16 point and sit second in the table. United host first place Seattle Stars for what is sure to be a great matchup Sunday July 2 at 3 pm at Civic Stadium.
