Shadow shuts out the traveling Hammers

SPOKANE, WA. Week 2 of the 2018 Evergreen Premier league and United drops their road match against the Shadow 0-4 (L).

In the first 30 minutes of play Bellingham and Spokane were evenly matched. United played a high pressure defense forcing the back line of Spokane to turnover the ball or to clear it into Hammer’s territory. The Hammers had clear chances to put themselves in the drivers seat of this match however failed in the process. “We have to finish our chances. We had at least two clear cut chances in the first 30 minutes and if we had finished at least one, it may have been a different game. I thought the squads were pretty even in that first 30 minutes and you were causing their back line some problems but we were not clinical (calm, precise, technical) with the chances we had. If we are to be successful in this short season, we have to score goals.” commented Head Coach, Jason Conway.  3 out of the starting 11 players for United made their debuts making this a young travel squad playing against an experienced 1st team who will be competing in the NPSL (National Premier Soccer League).

Week 3 of EPLWA: Hammers at home for the upcoming weekend and play Olympic Force May 19th at 5pm and Washington Premier May 20th at 3pm.
