The Bellingham United are happy to announce the return of Jason Conway as their Head Coach for the Evergreen Premier League. Conway led the Hammers to a first every playoff run falling eventual champions in the semi final (2-3). During the 10 game regular season the Hammers finished with a record of (5-4-1) 23 goals for, 17 goals against. Welcome back Jason!
Jason was born in Dublin, Ireland where he played for local clubs in the Dublin area up to the age of 18. Jason also played Gaelic Football for his home town club. When he was 19, Jason took a summer job with the YMCA in Spokane and flew to the United States in June 1992. He spent three more summers returning from Ireland before he moved permanently to Spokane in the fall of 1995. While in Spokane, Jason played for a short time for Gonzaga University and from there to Spokane Falls Community College. 1n 1997, Jason decided to move to Bellingham and met his wife Crystal in 1999. In 2017, Jason became a dual citizen of Ireland and the United States.
Jason began his coaching career at Gonzaga Prep in Spokane as an assistant. On moving to Bellingham in 1997, Jason began his 21-year WFC Ranger career. He has coached many teams and players in those years from U12-U19 and he is still a staff coach for the program. In 2013, Jason became the WFC Rangers Boys Technical Director and remained in that role for 4 years. He was also the Technical Director at Bellingham High School in the mid-2000s. Jason has also been part of the State ODP program as an assistant. He currently has his USSF National “D” license and is working on his National “C”.
